TidalHealth nurse receives Daisy Award

SALISBURY, Md. – A TidalHealth nurse went above and beyond to reach out to a family and make sure they were safe.

TidalHealth’s nurse Kari Cheezum received the Daisy Award in front of all her colleagues on Wednesday. We’re told recently Cheezum was reviewing trauma charts and noted a car crash that had brought in a mother and six children who were not in car seats at the time of the crash. TidalHealth says the family left the hospital before having the opportunity to ensure they had car seats available. So Cheezum took it upon herself to tell their primary care doctor they did not have car seats, so the mother ended up reaching back out to Cheezum who got a grant to buy six car seats and installed them all for the family on her day off.
