Police: Attempted stabbing leads to multiple charges for Cambridge man

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police are investigating after a man reportedly tried to stab a woman Monday afternoon.

At around 4:50 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Byrne Street after learning that a subject tried to stab a female with a knife. Officers arrived on scene and observed the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Brandon Williams, outside of a residence with a knife still in his hand.

Officers confronted Williams and ordered him to drop the knife, which he complied by throwing it down. Officers then met with the 23-year-old female victim who reported that an argument had turned physical when Williams grabbed a large steak knife from the kitchen and began swinging at her in an attempt to cut her. The victim told police that Williams jumped up on a coffee table and tried to reach ber by swinging the knife, however, the table broke and Williams fell on the floor.

Williams was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and other related charges. He is currently being held without bond.
