Pair arrested after loaded gun, marijuana found during traffic stop

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Two Delaware men were arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

At around 1:10 p.m., a trooper was patrolling the area of Peachtree Run and Irish Hill Road when they observed a vehicle with an expired registration. On contact with the driver, 22-year-old Xavier Daniels, and passenger, 21-year-old Thomas Hoskins, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and a loaded handgun and Crown Royal bag containing marijuana were found inside.

Hoskins and Daniels were both taken into custody as a result of the investigation. Hoskins was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of marijuana – personal use. He was held at SCI on a $7,500 secured bond.

Daniels was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of marijuana other than personal use, possession of drug paraphernalia, and expired tags. He was released on a $6,100 unsecured bond.
