Organizations teaming up in Berlin, giving school supplies to students, teachers

BERLIN, Md.- An organization is hosting a supply drive to make sure teachers and students have the resources they need when heading back to the classroom.

The Ocean City Jeep Club will be hosting the event in Berlin next Saturday.

They’re getting support from an organization called Bikers Without Borders Foundation, which is a motorcycle group helping various communities, like the youth.

We are told this “Back to School Supply Drive” is a yearly initiative.

And if you’re interested, supplies will be getting dropped off to Stephen Decatur Middle School.

One of the supporters of the event said it’s important to make sure teachers and students have all the tools needed to be successful.

“We along with the Ocean City Jeep Club we want to empower our children and the youth of our nation regardless of what community, regardless of what background you come from, we want to give everybody an opportunity to succeed whether it’s at school, whether it’s at work,” James Walsh, Vice President of Bikers Without Borders Foundation, said.

The organizations have a plan to meet at the Tractor Supply Store on Ocean City Boulevard at 10:30 a.m., then they will head over to the school.

If you’d like to pitch in, you can bring items on July 31st such as lunch boxes, pencils, papers, and folders.
