Non-profits helping military families with new school supplies

DELAWARE- Two non-profit organizations are teaming up to give back to military families and their children.

Hunt Heroes Foundation and Operation Homefront both provide services for military families.

This will be their second year partnering for a Back-to-School Brigade program, which provides school supplies to military families before the school year starts.

While this is a nationwide program, one of the communities they will focus on is the Dover Air Force Base.

We are told by providing families with school supplies they hope to fill a need, while getting kids excited for school.

“A lot of times people I don’t think that’s some thing as simple as a backpack or going back to school that is important, but I will tell you it is really important and it does impact these children, so just think about anything can give whether large or small it’s always so greatly appreciated and these families are in need,” Lynette Hegeman, National Marketing Director for Hunt Military Communities, said.

We are told Hunt Heroes will deliver over 2,000 backpacks throughout the month of August to Hunt Military communities in the U.S.

Also, they said giving families these bookbags will also be a big help to families who are dealing with financial difficulties and challenges due to the pandemic.
