Gymnastics gym expecting to see increase in kids as Olympics begin
FRUITLAND, Md.- The Olympics are starting soon and for one local gymnastics gym they say it’s plus.
The owner of Beach Bounders in Fruitland said every time the Olympics come around they always see an increased interest in their programs.
They said a big part of that is because young girls and boys get to see adults competing at the highest level and that gives kids interest in what they do at the gym.
The owner added getting more people in the gym will help business, especially with the pandemic hitting places hard.
“As a small business, that was really affected over the last year, being closed it was a year like no other, so to have this come up now and get some increased publicity will increase our numbers and we are really excited to have more people enjoy our product,” Terri Mueller, owner of Beach Bounders, said.
Mueller added that after last year the gym is a great place to get kids out and learning again as COVID-19 messed with many opportunities for them to do activities.
She said all around it’s been really positive getting kids back in the programs they offer.
