Freedom bus rid to demonstrate systemic racism on Maryland’s Eastern Shore
MARYLAND – In just one week, civil rights leaders and elected officials will take a Freedom bus ride to Ocean City from Annapolis to symbolize the systemic racism on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
We’re told the Freedom bus will make stops in Easton at the Talbot Boys monument, the birthplace of Harriet Tubman near Cambridge, Salisbury, and the final destination Ocean City.
Officials say leaders with the NAACP from Worcester County, Talbot County, Somerset County, Wicomico County and many others will be joining the bus tour.
We’re told the bus ride is supposed to be represent the Freedom Rides of the 1960’s.
The bus will leave from the Civil Rights Foot Soldiers Memorial at 10 a.m. on Monday July 19th. If you would like more information on the Freedom bus ride, just call 443-871-5656.
