Baby horse injured in hit-and-run accident being relocated to Virginia
VIRGINIA- A three month old orphaned horse that was said to have recently been involved in a hit and run car accident is being relocated to the Virginia portion of Assateague Island.
We are told during the hit and run incident, the baby horse was injured.
Her mother was also hit, and ended up passing away.
We’re told because of the baby’s young age she is at a disadvantage with the death of her mother.
That’s why the decision was made to relocate the baby to improve its chances of survival.
We’re told the baby will receive immediate care if needed and she then will be introduced into the herd at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.
