Wicomico Humane Society hosting virtual kitten shower

SALISBURY, Md. – It’s kitten season, and local rescues and shelters have been bringing in dozens of the little furry friends to help save their lives. But that takes a toll on their resources, so the Wicomico County Humane Society found a fun way to get people involved.

Until Saturday, the Humane Society is hosting an online virtual kitten shower. It’s like a baby shower, but for the cats! They have a list of things they need most, including toys, food, and other items.

We’re told while the intake of kittens has slowed down a bit, these donations still help a ton.

“We’re still getting calls, we just haven’t seen as many come into the shelter, but it’s definitely still an issue, they are still coming through the doors, we’re exhausting our foster network, so we need fosters probably first and foremost,” Megan Koester, with the Humane Society, said.

While it does technically end on Saturday, we’re told they will still welcome and appreciate any donations any time.
