Vehicle shot at Dover intersection, police investigating
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Bicentennial Boulevard and Declaration Drive.
According to police, at around 2:30 p.m., a Chevrolet Trailblazer pulled in front of a GMC Terrain at the intersection. A subject in the GMC then reportedly fired multiple rounds in the direction of the Trailblazer before both vehicles fled the area.
Officers located the Trailblazer in a nearby neighborhood with multiple bullet holes in it. Contact was made with the owner, who they say was uncooperative with police other than to say that an argument had taken place in the Hamlet Shopping Center at the corner of Walker Road and McKee Road prior to the shooting. Detectives were able to confirm that both vehicles were in the shopping center through surveillance footage but could not determine if an altercation took place.
No injuries or further damage was reported as a result of gunfire. A mailbox in the area was hit by a fleeing vehicle.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Dover Police at 302-736-7130 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
