1280 Sadowski

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police say a Maryland man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he hit a stranger with his vehicle.

We’re told the incident happened shortly before 5 p.m., at the Harris Teeter Grocery Store in Selbyville. The 53-year-old Fenwick man exited the store and tried to cross the parking lot from the store to the first median. While crossing the road, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck being driven by 19-year-old Robert Sadowski Jr., of Bishopville, began driving north in the parking lot toward the victim.

As Sadowski approached the victim, he reportedly accelerated and swerved the truck into where he was standing, ultimately hitting the victim and knocking him to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result.

Through investigative leads, troopers identified Sadowski as the driver of the pickup truck. He was contacted and turned himself in to Troop 4, where he was charged with felony second degree assault and released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
