Police: Dorchester Co. bus driver arrested for DUI

TODDVILLE, Md. – Police say a Dorchester County bus driver was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, on Wednesday.

According to police, a call came in from the area of Toddville Back Street for a school bus in a ditch. On arrival, it was learned that Bus #54 had been driven into a ditch and become stuck. The driver, 52-year-old Scott Foxwell, was found to have an odor of alcohol on his breath.

The deputy then performed several field sobriety checks on Foxwell, who was ultimately arrested for driving while impaired by alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving a commercial vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and transporting a minor child, reckless driving, and unsafe backing.

Foxwell was released pending action by the District Couty. There were no injuries to the occupants of the school bus at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
