Local girl scouts present handmade quilt to Army National Guard veteran

DELMARVA – The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay announced on Tuesday that they were part of a ceremony to honor a veteran of the Maryland/Delaware Army National Guard.

The Girl Scouts posted on Facebook that Troop 181 made a quilt by hand to present to Sergeant Lisa B. The girls in the troop, along with the help of their troop leader, says the pattern of the Quilts of Valor was called “Standing Strong”. They say a part of what made the ceremony so touching was that the sergeant is a former brownie and junior girl scout, so the girls were able to learn from her experiences. They also said the presentation was moving for everyone involved and it was an honor to wrap her in their QOV quilt.
