Inspiring, building young girls with mentoring summer program

SALISBURY, Md. – The local group Absolutely Flawless Women is planning their Girls Mentoring Summer Program.*

This program has been around for 2 years, partnering up with Salisbury Middle School.

They help 6th through 8th graders build self esteem and character.

But due to COVID, they were not able to have the program last year.

Now that restrictions have lifted, they want to get back into educating these young girls and taking them on field trips to learn about different cultures.

“It’s very important for us to elevate minds, its very important for us to show them new ways, you know new concepts of lifestyle, just because we live in a certain area doesn’t mean we have to be a product of that area if its negative,” Dr. Leshell Dennis, CEO of Absolutely Flawless Women Resource Center, said.

The program will be twice a week for 6 weeks at 200 East Church Street in Salisbury.

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore did send them a check for this summer program.

There are 25 spots for girls, and they will stop taking applications within the next two weeks.

They want to start the program at the end of the month.

If you would like more information on the program, you can call 410-845-6330 or visit the Absolutely Flawless Women Resource Center Facebook page.
