Fire Marshal’s Office rules arson for Pit Stop Bar and Grill fire in Greenwood

GREENWOOD, Del.- The State Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the fire that happened at the Pit Stop Bar and Grill back in May as an arson.

The Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal said they determined that from scene examination.

The bar had been shut down indefinitely, after a fight broke out.

However, the owner had hopes of reopening.

Now, with this fire being ruled an arson the Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for the community’s help in solving who was behind this.

“More information is always good, when you’re investigating something people might have heard something or saw something that they didn’t think was important information that’s still weighing on them, just ask that they reach out and they can anonymously share that with us,” John Galaska, Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal, said.

Fire damage is estimated at $500,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office at (302) 856-5600
