DiNardo Foundation aiming to expand their efforts on Delmarva to help more people
DELMARVA- After launching a foundation during the pandemic, a Delmarva family is hoping to expand their efforts for the future.
The Ignatius DiNardo Foundation was started by a family who lost their father who was a physician.
They wanted to carry on his legacy, as he was always going out of his way to help his patients.
The foundation works with hospitals and non-profits to help vulnerable populations with the financial burden that comes along with health care.
They’re also working to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by doing things like passing out free masks.
The foundation has already put over $50,000 back into the community and they said they are already planning to do more.
“So, being able to be a resource for people is great and I think just going forward being able to help the way we are but being able to expand our efforts to help with some preventative measures as well,” Greg DiNardo, a co-founder, said.
DiNardo added that they’re hoping to partner with a couple more hospitals.
They said they also want to find opportunities to provide education around nutrition in the community.
DiNardo said they are planning to host another 5K this year.
Last year, they had their first virtual 5K and raised over $30,000.
