UPDATE: Police investigating homicide in Frankford

FRANKFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a Lincoln man Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 3:30 p.m., Frankford Police and Delaware State Police were called to Honolulu Road, in the area of Kauffman Lane, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 33-year-old man sitting in the driver’s seat of a gray 2012 Volkswagen CC suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say after the victim was shot, he tried to drive away from the scene, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into the front of a residence on Honolulu Road.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead. Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
