Scholarship named after Cpl. Keith Heacook
SALISBURY, Md. – The Community Foundation of the Lower Eastern Shore is honoring the late Delmar Corporal Keith Heacook with a new scholarship in his name. Corporal Heacook was brutally attacked when responding to a call in Delmar, and passed away last week.
Now, the scholarship in his name will be awarded to a Delmar High School graduate pursuing a career in public service.
In a statement, Julie Parrish, who helped create the scholarship fund, said: “Keith’s service and sacrifice will be honored year after year, serving as a reminder of his legacy. We hope the scholarship will inspire young men and women to serve their community, and Keith faithfully served his.”
If you want to donate to the scholarship fund, you can make a contribution here. If you donate to the fund, the money will go toward the scholarship for a high school student, not toward Cpl. Heacook’s family. But other fundraisers have been set up to benefit his family and his 12-year-old son, you can find those resources here. Contributions can also be made to the trust set up at the Bank of Delmarva.
