HARRINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of one man.

Police say on Thursday just after 5:30 p.m.,  a 22 year old man was driving his motorcycle down South Dupont Highway in Harrington when another driver in a Buick stopped at a stop sign at an intersection.

Police say because of how fast the motorcycle was going, the Buick driver was not able to notice them and so they started to cross the intersection. That’s when police say the motorcycle crashed into the left side of the Buick.

We’re told the motorcycle driver was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His identification is pending notification of next of kin.

We’re also told that the Buick driver, an 81 year old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital for non life threatening injuries.
