Pair arrested for drug distribution in Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Two people have been arrested in connection to a CDS distribution investigation in the Ocean City area.
Police say during the month of February, the Narcotics Unit initiated a controlled dangerous substance investigation into a local individual, identified as 32-year-old Melody Hines, who was reportedly selling heroin and/or fentanyl out of various hotels in Ocean City.
On Wednesday, officers witnessed Hines running a red light on Coastal Highway on the north end of town. A traffic stop was initiated, during which officers requested K-9 assistance. After K-9 Jappie gave a positive alert for narcotics inside the vehicle, officers located and seized more than 200 bags of fentanyl, over $600 in cash, and the vehicle as part of the investigation.
As a result, Hines and 53-year-old Eddy Roundtree were arrested. The pair were each charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotic, CDS possession not marijuana, and distribute mixture with heroin and fentanyl.
Hines and Roundtree were held without bond.
