Local high school advances in shoe design competition

ACCOMACK CO., Va. – One Virginia high school student’s designs for shoes is getting some attention, but the school needs your help to advance in a competition.

Arcadia High School has been entering into the Vans High School Custom Culture Competition for years now, where students create designs for those, and then the best of the best designs will advance in the competition.

This is the first year that the school has been chosen to advance, and it’s all thanks to these shoes designed by a student named Elijah. He says no matter what happens, he’s just happy to have made it this far in the competition.

To advance to the final part of the competition, Elijah and the school need you to vote for his design. To do that, you can log on to Vans website here and vote for Arcadia High School’s submission. Voting ends on Friday at 8 p.m., and one vote can be placed per day.

If Elijah’s design does win, the school’s art department will win a $50,000 grand prize.
