Local DE group aiming to continue creative market events in new location

REHOBOTH, Del.- A group that helps local artists is trying to get the community’s support, so they can keep on holding market events.

Developing Artist Collaboration is an artists development organization that empowers the careers of artists and gives them resources.

The group runs a Creative Market, which recently moved to a new location in West Rehoboth.

Although, they’ve been approved for initial events, they are want to get a conditional permit to keep this event going for years to come in it’s current location.

That’s why they’ve started a petition to show the community wants them there too, which could help make this happen.

“So we have it just as a way to get our community behind us, we don’t have to do this, but we are starting this really cool petition,” Leah Beach, Founder and Executive Director at DAC, said.

“We got hit so hard through the pandemic and we are here to make a family fun event that people will love for years to come.” Beach said.

We are told the Creative Market events include handmade goods, live entertainment, and local food.

They’ll start back up May 24 and hope to have these weekly events on Monday’s.

They have plans to have the market from May through October.

Beach encourages people to continue supporting local artists during this time.
