Local 7-year-old donates birthday money to humane society

SALISBURY, Md. – A 7-year-old in Salisbury chose a really special way to celebrate her birthday.

Maddie Hurst sent a letter to the Wicomico Humane Society on Wednesday, saying her grandmother gave her $25 for her birthday to give to someone in need. She said she gave the $25 to the Humane Society because she “wants animals to find a home.”

She also thanked the Humane Society for “keeping the animals safe”.
