Job fair being hosted next week, 35+ employers looking to hire

SALISBURY, Md. – Plenty of people are looking for work during the pandemic and as of late it seems like even more places are looking to hire. So employers and job seekers can meet each other at a job fair right here in Salisbury next week.

So here’s the details: on Wednesday the 19th, Mountaire and the Oak Ridge Baptist Church are teaming up to host that job fair in the Oak Ridge Parking lot. It will happen from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and anyone who is looking for a job is welcome to come walk around, introduce themselves to employers, and see what jobs are available.

We’re told so far, over 35 employers are already signed up to be there.

One organizer of the job fair says it’s all about getting people into jobs and filling that need for businesses here on Delmarva.

“You hear constantly in the news right now and all the business owners that I talk to, ‘I can’t find people, I can’t find people, I can’t find people,’ so we’re really hoping that there’s going to be a big turnout,” Chris Eccleston, a co-chair of the event, said.

If you’re a jobseeker, there is no pre-registration required. You’re invited to just show up on Wednesday between 3 and 7 p.m., but we’re told you should bring a resume and be prepared for any on-site interviews.
