HALO needs help raising almost $300K to repair damaged shelter roof

SALISBURY, Md.- Hope and Life Outreach center needs the communities help to raise money for a new roof.

The executive director told us with all the major rain they found leaks throughout their shelter.

Because of this, they are moving furniture around.

We’re told the project could cost close to $300,000.

So, they made a fundraiser to help reach that goal and to try and solve the problem quickly, so they don’t have to put people out.

“The community’s support, I depend on it, HALO depends on it and they always come through,” Celeste Savage, Executive Director of HALO, said.

“If we didn’t do something right away, you know with COVID we are not at full capacity, but we are still looking somewhere around 50 people, that we would actually have to put back out on the streets.”

We’re told until the end of May an anonymous donor will match dollar for dollar donations that come in up to $50,000 dollars.

You donate on their website, text halo angel to 43321, mail it in, or stop by their center.

There is more information about the fundraiser on their Facebook page.
