Central wins battle of Georgetown baseball contenders

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Sussex Central downed their rivals Sussex Tech 4-3 Tuesday night. Both teams came into the game with ten or more victories, and could’ve be a playoff preview.

Central burst through in the third inning for three runs, and added a fourth the following inning.

Tech scored three runs on throwing errors by the Central defense. The Ravens had the tying run at third base in the bottom of the sixth with two outs, but Brendan Anderson got a strikeout looking to end the threat.

Anderson would finish off Tech in the seventh.

Sussex Central (11-3) will host MOT Charter on Thursday. Sussex Tech (12-3) travel north to bear to take on Caravel on Saturday.
