DELAWARE – On Monday, Delaware officials and community members gathered to commemorate the anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education case.

Governor John Carney was joined by U.S. Senator Tom Carper , Senator Chris Coons, U.S. Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester, other state officials, former students of the Hockessin Colored School #107, and community members.

They gathered to honor not only the day, but those students who endured the case and all the work put in to bring white and black students together. State officials, residents and former students say, it’s an honor to be apart of the day and they hope to continue to work together to further fight racial injustices today.
