SALISBURY, Md. – The organization ‘GiveSendGo’ noticed a need in a downtown café, so they put together a fundraiser to help out.

Many locals know one of the many downtown coffee shops as Old Towne Deli, but now they’re changing their name to ‘Together Café.’  The founder of ‘GiveSendGo’ says, ‘Together Café’ owner, Vicente Hernandez does a lot for the community. He caters to the homeless by providing them with food and coffee, and he’s always willing to lend a helping hand.

The organization noticed the cafe’s espresso machine was broken, so they wanted to help out. ‘GiveSendGo’ raised a little over $3,000 dollars and gifted Hernandez on Saturday morning.

Hernandez shares his gratitude and says, “My wife says I Vicente people, like they’ll try to pay for something and I’m like nah it’s on me. It’s awkward and a blessing that people can turn it back around so, thank you so much.” ‘GiveSendGo’ founder, Heather Wilson adds, “Seeing people donating so generously, it is encouraging to see a community that is growing it like Salisbury is and still have that small town feel where there’s somebody in need, people want to step up and be a part.”

Hernandez also tells 47 ABC, with the purchase of a new machine he’ll be able to continue catering to the community and bringing them coffee, food and of course, togetherness.

The fundraiser is still open to anyone who wants to donate.
