Wicomico Co. Health Department holding anti-stigma workshop

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Today, officials are talking about something other than the coronavirus and vaccine – they’re talking about stigmas against addiction and even mental health problems.

The Wicomico County Health Department is part of an anti-stigma workshop that started this morning at 9 a.m., and the specific audience is healthcare workers.

Health officials say often times when someone is struggling with addiction or mental health, they’re scared to tell healthcare workers for the fear of being judged or misunderstood. Today’s workshop is all about attacking those stigmas and making sure people aren’t suffering.

That workshop started this morning at 9 a.m. and will go until 4 p.m.
