Vaccines required for all University System of Maryland schools ahead of fall semester
MARYLAND – The University System of Maryland announced on Friday that Chancellor Jay A. Perman will require all eligible students, faculty, and staff to be vaccinated in order to be on campus this coming fall.
Chancellor Perman, in a release, said that the risk of doing too little to prevent the spread of covid on campuses this fall outweighed the risk of doing too much. He also said USM will comply with federal and state laws that would exempt someone for medical or religious reasons.
In a statement following that announcement, University of Maryland Eastern Shore President Heidi Anderson wrote: “I look forward to working with our Hawk Family to find ways to implement required vaccinations, including clarifying exceptions.”
