Police investigate crash that leaves one dead

 

SELBYVILLE, Md.– Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Friday afternoon.

Police say around 1 p.m. a Selbyville fire police truck was being used to assist with traffic control for a separate car crash.

As that scene cleared, the driver of a truck began to reverse in a southbound direction towards lighthouse road.

At the time there was a pedestrian standing behind the truck, that person was hit.

The victim, a 56-year-old female from Selbyville was taken to Tidalhealth where she was pronounced dead.

Her identification is pending notification to next of kin and the investigation is ongoing.
