One injured in Princess Anne house fire

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – A weekend house fire in Somerset County injured one and caused nearly $200,000 in damages.

Officials say the fire broke out at around 1 p.m. Saturday, at 33449 Perryhawkin Road in Princess Anne. Firefighters with the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze, which took approximately one hour to control.

Maryland Fire Marshals were called in to investigate the fire, ultimately determining that it was accidental in nature and caused by an electrical issue. We’re told one adult male was taken to the hospital for a minor burn injury sustained in the fire.

Total damage has been estimated at $180,000.
