O’Connor tosses five touchdowns as Easton soars past Decatur

BERLIN, MD.- Behind five touchdown passes from Ryan O’Connor, the Easton Warriors rolled past Decatur 42-20 to move to 4-0 on the year. Stephen Decatur drops to 4-2.

Easton received the opeing kickoff and drew first blood. Ryan O’Connor with the mean pump and dime to Grant Copper in the corner of the end zone. Warriors took a seven point lead to end the first quarter.

Following an O’Connor interception, the Seahawks set up at their own 20  and take advantage. Ashton Snelsire dropped back to pass and hit Kolby Higgins for the 75 yard strike. Two point conversion good, Decatur took a one point lead to start the second quarter.

Next Easton drive, O’Connor found Nate Book in the corner of the end zone and he gets the toe tap for the touchdown. Easton up jumped ahead 16 after another O’Connor TD pass to Jarin Winters with under five minutes to play in the half. But right before half, Decatur looked to answer. Snelsire looking over the middle hit Zimere Handy and Handy breaks through the defense, down the sideline and he gets into the endzone. Eastons lead cut to eight headed to the break.

Second half, Decatur looked to cut into it some more. Ashton Snelsire dropped back and tossed a dime to Higgins and Higgins outran the defense sixty nine yards to the end zone for the score and just like that its a two point game to start the second half.

But the ensuing Warriors drive, O’Connor rolled out to his left again and again he threw a perfect pass to Jonathan Pope for the score. His third of the game. He had five as Easton goes up two scores in the third. With time winding down in the third, a handoff to Jarin Winters up the gut found Winters standing in the end zone for his second score of the game, first on the ground.

In the fourth quarter, Warriors still up 35-20 and adding on for good measure. O’Connor dropped back and hit LJ Murray on a rope and Murray took it in for the 21 yard score to put it away. Easton moves to 4-0 with the 42-20 win over Decatur/

The Warriors close out their season next Friday when they travel to Cambridge to take on the Vikings. The Seahawks travel to Snow Hill to take on their rival Eagles next Friday to end their spring season.
