Indian River School District to begin offering half day in-person learning on Wednesdays

SELBYVILLE, Del. – The Indian River School District will soon be offering a half day of in-person instruction on Wednesdays for hybrid students in grades PreK through 12.

Wednesday was previously a remote learning day for all students. The Wednesday half day will be offered to all hybrid students and alternate by cohort. The schedule will be as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 5th: Cohort B
  • Wednesday, May 12th: Cohort A
  • Wednesday, May 19th: Cohort B
  • Wednesday, June 2nd: Cohort A
  • Wednesday, June 9th: Cohort B

There will be no school for students on Wednesday, May 26th. There will be five hours of instruction on these dates and meal service will be provided to students. Schools will communicate starting and ending times to parents. Students in the cohort who are not attending in-person instruction on Wednesday will participate in remote asynchronous learning at the elementary level and remote synchronous instruction at the middle and high school levels.

The district will continue to offer full-time remote instruction for parents who would prefer that option.
