Concerns Of Trash Build Up
DAGSBORO, DE. – In Delaware, a local resident is “raising” concerns, saying the trash alongside the roads is getting out of hand.
Andrew Semanick tells us along the highway and on the corners of streets he’s seen plastic bags, bottles, cans, and more.
He says since moving to Delaware 2 years ago the build-up has only gotten worse.
His concerns are that the trash is interfering with life and the waterways. “It interferes with the quality of life, its an eye sore,” said Semanick.
He says he just ultimately wants something to be done. “I think laws need to be strengthened, I think people who just take bags of trash and dump them along the highway if they are caught they need to have strict fines,” said Semanick.
We reached out to the Department of Transportation to get more information about litter clean up and as of airtime we did not hear back from them.
