‘Clean up Wicomico’ launches on Earth day

WICOMICO Co., Md. – Salisbury University chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, along with county officials launched a new “Clean Up Wicomico” initiative.

Fraternity members and officials gathered at the intersection of Levin Dashiell and Naylor Mill Roads in Hebron for the clean up event. With the launching of this initiative, officials tell us, their goal is to clean up litter and roadside debris.

The county will provide trash bags, pickers, safety vests, as well as cover the cost of dumping. This is an open event and organizers of the event say, they hope this will spark interest in Marylanders to help keep Wicomico and the state clean. John Psota, Wicomico County Executive says, “Hopefully this will start the ball rolling and getting communities together, neighbors together, friends together, family together and enjoying a beautiful day like today and getting something really accomplished, really great.”
