Children’s Group Leads Easter Food Drive

SALISBURY, MD. – Instead of hunting for eggs, some kids across Delmarva decided to lend a big helping hand this Easter.

Today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day children’s group rounded up food donations for Maryland and Delaware food banks.

Many food banks require volunteers to be 13 years old, yet these kids still found a way to serve alongside their families.

Jaden Howell, age 10, tells us that doing this is important to the community and makes him feel good. “Easter is a holiday and there’s a lot of people out there who need food,” said Howell. “It just makes me feel really happy to see that we’re all a team in this and that we can do this together.”

All together, over three thousand pounds of food got donated to the Salisbury and Delaware food banks.  Nearly 250 children are apart of the organization across six congregations.
