Adams Radio Group joins in nation-wide fundraiser to fight hunger

SALISBURY, Md. – The Adams Radio Group of Delmarva joined in on a nation-wide push to help those in need on Wednesday.

The “Radio Cares: Feeding America Radiothon” is a one day fundraising event benefiting Feeding America. All funds raised will go directly to local food banks across the country, including the Food Bank of Delaware and the Maryland Food Bank.

All day on Wednesday, the radio group  asked listeners to make small monetary donations. They say just one dollar from a contributor helped provide 10 meals to those in need.

A DJ for the radio group, Hunter Landon, says this was just one way a local radio group could use their platform to help others, and hopefully change someone’s life.

“The pandemic of course is still raging on and there are so many folks in our community that are facing food insecurity and hunger and that is why we have partnered up with radio stations across the country for this all day radio cares, Feeding America radiothon,” said Landon.

To donate, they asked the public to text “radio” to 662266, as well as by logging on to their website. The radiothon aired on stations including OC 104, Kool Oldies 104.3 and 105.1 , and Big 107.
