Worcester County firing range reopens next month

NEWARK, Md. –

The Worcester County firing range is being prepared to reopen to the public.

The range is actually a law enforcement training facility, but officials plan to reopen it to the public a few hours a week. You bring your own gun and safety gear, like ear and eye protection.

It costs five dollars, but that money goes back into the upkeep of the range. Sheriff Matthew Crisafulli tells us it’s a great opportunity to teach safety measures to area residents.

“It gives them the opportunity to learn a little bit about the gun . . . safety protocols and safety measures will be taught before they’re putting rounds down range.”

They offer both pistol and rifle lanes. The range is on Langmaid Road in Newark. It will reopen to the public starting April 10th. Hours are 8AM – 12PM.

The range is contingent on weather conditions that day and COVID 19 restrictions that may be in place. If you have any questions contact them at 410-632-1112.

State of Maryland health requirements will be enforced.
