Weather Tidbits: Worm Moon

The Worm Moon takes center stage in this Weather Tidbits. The March full moon is known as the worm moon; due to worms specifically earthworms beginning to appear in the soil. The warming ground invites birds such as robin; thus signaling the beginning of spring. It is also known as the full crow moon; as crows caw signaling the end of winter. In weather, it is known as the full crust moon; where the snow cover becomes crusted from daytime melting & nighttime freezing. It can also be named as the wind strong moon; due to the blustery days that tend to occur during this time of the year.
