Weather Tidbits: The Seasons
It’s all about the seasons on this Weather Tidbits. Earth has 4 seasons which consist of the vernal equinox (spring), the summer solstice, the autumnal equinox (fall) & the winter solstice. Spring & fall occur when the sun is over the equator and everyone on the planet receives about 12 hours of daylight & nighttime. The summer solstice happens when the sun is over the Tropic of Cancer; giving the northern hemisphere maximum daylight. The winter solstice occurs 6 months later; when the sun shifts towards the Tropic of Capricorn, maximizing sunlight for the southern hemisphere.
