Salisbury man sentenced to life for raping a minor

1280 Woodlin

SALISBURY, Md. – A man convicted of raping a minor will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

51-year-old John Woodlin, formerly of Salisbury, has been sentenced to two life sentences on two counts of second degree rape, each with a 15 year minimum mandatory, and 20 years on his conviction for sex abuse of a minor. The judge ordered that all sentenced will run consecutive to each other.

Woodlin was convicted by a Wicomico County jury on November 4, 2020. At the time of his offense, he was registered as a Tier III sex offender.

We’re told this was the third time Woodlin has been convicted for sexual offenses. In this case, he sexually abused the victim, who was under the age of 12, in September of 2019.
