Police arrest man for DUI and weapon charges

CLAYMONT, Del– Delaware State Police arrested a man for DUI and weapon charges following a traffic stop Sunday morning.

Police say around 1:30 a trooper pulled over 35-year-old Martwain Johnston of Wilmington, and during the stop the trooper says he smelled an odor of alcohol.

Johnston was taken into custody without incident, a search was conducted which led to the discovery of a handgun.

Johnston was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while under the influence, driving while under the influence, speeding, and failing to remain within a single lane.
