Nonprofit see’s overwhelming support from Do More 24 Delaware event, raised over $52K
DELAWARE- The Shepherd’s Office, in Georgetown, is happy to see how much the community supported them for this years Do More 24 event.
The event is a 24 hour day of giving designed to help non-profits raise money and engage new donors.
This year the event went from March 4 to the 5th.
Jim Martin, the founder of the Shepherd’s Office, which feeds the homeless, said last year they raised $15,000.
But this year they far exceeded that number, they raised over $52,000.
Martin said he is grateful and said this shows that people know the Shepherd’s Office is trying to make a difference.
“Its’ basically an endorsement or validation that we are a grassroots community right here in Georgetown, doing everything we can to help, I think the words getting out more and more that we are right on the front-lines,” Martin said.
Martin said he’s not sure what the money will be used for just yet, but he does know money will go to continuing to help those he serves.
We are told that over one million dollars was raised overall during this year’s event.
