New manufacturing plant bringing jobs to the Cambridge area

MARYLAND- In a time when trying to find a job is difficult, a new manufacturing plant is hoping to bring jobs to the area with their new facility in Cambridge.

The President of Powertrain Products said their company distributes engines and transmissions throughout the country.

He said currently they have a location in Stevensville Maryland, but they have been looking to add a manufacturing plant on the Eastern Shore.

The President said he is looking forward to building and are optimistic about bringing jobs to the Shore.

“We’re excited to be able to offer jobs not only in the automotive industry which is challenging in of itself but just in general, so we welcome anybody with technical background or the willingness to work,” Ed Symonds, CEO of Powertrain Products Inc., said.

The President of the company said he hopes to bring between 20 to 30 local jobs.

He is hoping the manufacturing plant will be operational in about 1 year.

Jobs postings will be up on their website, powertrainproducts.net, in the next couple of months.
