Indians win first boys basketball playoff game in over a decade
LAUREL, Del. – Indian River grabbed an early lead and never looked back, on their way to a 49-41 win the first round of the DIAA boys basketball playoffs.
Willem Lambertson knocked down three first-half 3-pointers, on his way to a team-high 18 points.
Nifere Griffin did all he could for the short-handed Bulldogs, dropping a game-high 21 points. Eighth grader Kyle Thompson impressed with his play, and added 8 points.
Indian River’s playoff victory is their first in over a decade. They will now take on Salesianum in the second round of the DIAA playoffs.
