Denton man charged with arson in connection to vehicle fire
GREENSBORO, Md. – A Denton man has been arrested in connection to a vehicle fire that took place late last year.
During the early morning hours of December 13th, the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company and Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire that completely destroyed a 2014 Ford Focus valued at approximately $8,000.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect, 33-year-old Nicholas Conner, was driving the vehicle without a valid driver’s license when he was involved in a single vehicle crash, which damaged the vehicle. Because of the damage and a suspended driver’s license, police say Conner intentionally set fire to the vehicle in an attempt to conceal it.
Conner has been charged with second degree arson and malicious burning. If found guilty, Conner could face up to 25 years in prison and/or $35,000 in fines.
