Addressing nurses and doctors shortage in DE

DELAWARE – State Senator, Chris Coons along with other U.S. state senators introduced legislation to address the shortage of doctors and nurses.

The healthcare workforce resilience act would make use of 25,000 unused immigrant visas for nurses and 15,000 unused immigrant visas for doctors. With this legislation, it would allow doctors and nurses stuck in the green card backlog to help provide immediate relief.

While getting more workers in health facilities, it will also prevent blocking of medical professionals during this time. However this bill is still being discussed.
