Women reporting side effects after receiving the vaccine and a mammogram
47 ABC – If you’re a woman who has received a mammogram, as well as the COVID-19 vaccine there is talk of women seeing some side effects.
Many breast care centers are reportedly telling women to consider getting their mammogram before receiving the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, or four to six weeks after receiving the second dose.
Apparently there was a report of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines causing swollen lymph nodes in the armpit after receiving the shot. However, local doctors say there has been little word around the area of woman who are experiencing these symptoms.
One local breast care facility says this information is still very new, but they are working to provide more information and tests regarding the vaccine and mammograms.
However, they do say if you’re planning to get a mammogram in between vaccine doses, complete a routine check for lymph nodes and report anything to your doctor.
