“We are very thankful that we can be here for the local community:” Avenues Recovery Community impacting lives since opening in December

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Since opening their doors in December, Avenues Recovery Center said they are incredibly proud of how much work they’ve been able to get done in a short time.

The Executive Director for the drug and alcohol recovery center tells 47 ABC that their first ever group of patients are about a week away from discharge.

He said it’s amazing to see how much of an impact the recovery center is making, especially during the pandemic, a time when we are told it’s been hard for many trying to recover.

“I am humbled it is amazing to see for us to see incredible response and the amount of people that are looking for help,  we are very thankful that we can be here for the local community,” Joe Weisbord, Executive Director of Avenues Recovery Center, said.

We are told as the recovery center moves forward they are adding more clinical staff and getting new counselors.

The center will also be adding a music teacher to their program, which they are looking forward to.
